Ilinniq (Learning)
Ilinniq is a 13-part series targeted to a general adult audience. Political and social development in Nunavut has occurred at a rapid pace since Inuit leaders first gathered at Carleton University in the 1970s. In a relatively short period of time, Inuit have moved from outpost camps to organized communities. Many people from many different walks of life have experienced this dramatic change firsthand. This series takes a look at 13 people from politicians to elders to communicators and see how the political and social development shaped their lives. This series provides an understanding as to why these people are seen as "celebrities" in Nunavut. Language: Inuktitut (English sub-titles).

This video is one of a series of clips showcasing TV productions by the Inuit Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) in Nunavut, Canada over the last 30 years. The series of clips are linked on IBC's Nunavut Media Arts Centre (NMAC) fundraising website "Sanavallianiq Isumagijaujunut -- Building for Dreams" launched in September 2012: www.Sanavallianiq.ca or www.Building4Dreams.ca -- Donate Today!
We are raising $8.5 million for this building which will house IBC's production operations, including updated equipment to keep pace with the industry, a studio, film archives and more. The building will also be available to other film, performing, and media artists and organizations in and outside of Nunavut.
The video clips include some past programs and the following programs currently broadcast in the Inuit language (with English subtitles or overdubs) on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN):
